3v3 Summer Soccer '09 League June 26th Video Highlights

by Coach Jason June 27 2009 17:33

It's getting hot in Texas! More 3v3 soccer video highlights from Friday, June 26th of our 3v3 Summer Soccer '09 league. The players played through the heat and scored some great goals again this Friday. The Nationals FC 98 girls joined us again to play against the boys. The 00 boys experimented by playing a game with a size 1 ball. Something we plan to start incorporating into certain games. It really requires them to be precise on the ball with their touches. It can be a great development tool for individual footwork and help players develop finesse with a larger ball. The only problem we ran into was the grass being too long. But it's great to see lots of players playing with confidence and taking on players 1v1.

2000 Boys Finish 3rd in 3v3 Live Dallas

by Coach Jason June 27 2009 17:04

To play soccer in Texas, sooner or later you have to learn to play in the extreme heat. The 2000 boys got a heavy dose of it in the 100+ degree temperatures at the 3v3 Live Dallas tournament on June 27th in The Colony, TX. I think any team participating in these temperatures deserves a medal just for finishing the day out. Although they did not advance to the championship game they did finish well all around outscoring most of their opponents by a fair margin. In total they scored 37 goals for and only had 11 goals against with 5 wins and 1 loss. It was the most competitive tournament of the summer so far and they gained some great team experience.

Players participating were Dylan, Kameron, Nick, Fabian, Jake and our guest player for this tournament, David. They all showed great skill and perseverance through the heat. Congratulations boys!

Here are some video highlights from the June 12th 3v3 soccer games at Turner Fields. Severe weather threatened to cancel the fun but luck was on our side as the main storm turned south. It was a great night for 3v3 soccer as the Texas heat was held off by the looming storms. Three 01 teams played on the smaller field and three 2000 teams took the larger field. For the last game of the night we took all of the 2000's and mixed them up. It was a good night all around for 3v3 soccer action with some great goals.
